Privacy Policy

Lobby ("Lobby," "we," "us") operates the Lobby website and app (the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. Email address and password when you sign up (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase, so we never see your raw password). A username/handle you choose.

Profile information you provide. Bio, avatar (built in-app or the Lobby logo, for the one account permitted to use it), region/country, social media links, and your privacy setting (public or private account).

Content you create. Game reviews and ratings, posts, comments, likes, reposts, video links you share (YouTube/Twitch), and party/group membership.

Gameplay preference data. The head-to-head comparisons and typed scores you give games, used to calculate your rankings and power recommendations.

Automatically collected data. Standard technical data (IP address, browser type, device information) collected by our hosting and infrastructure providers as part of normal operation.

2. How We Use It

• Operate and display the Service, including showing your content to other users according to your privacy setting
• Calculate rankings, leaderboards, and XP
• Generate AI game recommendations (see Section 3)
• Maintain the daily-limit and abuse protections on features like AI recommendations
• Communicate with you about your account
• Detect and prevent abuse, spam, or violations of our Terms of Service

3. AI Recommendations and Third Parties

When you request AI-powered game recommendations, the games you've rated and their scores (not your name, email, or other personal information) are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate suggestions. This request is subject to Anthropic's own privacy practices.

We also rely on the following service providers ("subprocessors") to run Lobby:

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

4. What's Public

By default, your handle, avatar, bio, reviews, and posts are visible to other users. Setting your account to private limits what non-followers can see (see the options in Settings). Region-based leaderboards only include you if you've set a region. Party codes are only shared with people you or your party members invite.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (Section 8).

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these, contact us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

Lobby is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
